Prior to Sears Holdings going out of business, our team managed a long-standing partnership with Sears and Kmart that began in the 1980s.
- Assisted with developing and maintaining Sears Barcode Requirements.
- Served as a third-party resource for vendors requiring technical support.
- Implemented diagnostic and reporting procedures at Sears’ receiving locations for noncompliant SSCC-18s and GTINs.
- Administered Sears’ Barcode Compliance Program for GTIN-14 and GS1-128 Shipping Labels.
- Assisted with migration of supplier GTIN data during merger between Sears and Kmart which created Sears Holdings Corporation.
Our team’s work with Sears' Top 200 vendors was the catalyst in improving Sears' scan rates for vendor-generated carton and shipping labels from less than 25% to over 95% at their cross-dock facilities. We worked directly with each vendor to identify and resolve all barcode
label compliance
issues.
Our team received Sears' Partner in Progress Award five times for our innovative and flexible approach to significantly improving the performance of vendor-generated GS1-128 shipping labels and GTIN-14 carton labels.
The widespread adoption of barcodes in the 1990s and early 2000s enabled us to leverage our experience with Sears to assist with all types of retail label requirements. Currently, several retailers, including Barnes & Noble, recommend Order Barcodes as a preferred third-party
source for barcode
labels.
